You Touched My Life

In the early morning light
After the moon and stars are gone
I awake to find my thoughts drawn to you
As into the day my dreams from the night continue on

There is a special place always filled with warmth
Found nestled deep within the boundaries of my heart
Where fond memories of you will remain forever
Safely tucked away; from me they shall never part

You touched my life in so many wonderful ways
I remember your loving words and the gentleness always shown
Whenever I am down or have a feeling of being alone
I can always think of you and those thoughts comfort my soul

The beauty of your love and the compassion in your heart
Does not dim in comparison to the island of beauty where you are
As spectacular as is the beauty of nature that surrounds you there
Also are the wonderful characteristics found residing in you by far

You truly are someone special, and hold a gift not many possess
Your outlook on life itself, that so often with me you would share
Taught me so much as many lessons through time I feel I have learned
I was indeed blessed to have met you, to have known you, this I am aware

The sun has now faded and the moon and stars have reappeared
My thoughts again are of you as I begin to drift into a peaceful sleep
In my mind are the memories of so much of yourself that you shared
And the way you touched my life; was truly a blessing I'll forever keep
