Prelude to Marriage

Except for the company of her spirit and soul
She stands alone, a few moments in thought she takes
As she searches her soul for the feelings within
She thinks of the commitment she is about to make

Watching from afar, he gazes at her beauty on the hillside
Adorned in a satin gown with white lace and pearls
She looks like an angel standing on high against the clouds
A circle of baby's breath sitting like a halo atop her golden curls

At this moment her love and spirit soars high
She feels in her heart and her eyes do show
That she loves him from down deep within;
The gentleman that stands in the valley below

No fear has he of this commitment he enters
His thoughts are clear, his heart she was won
His love runs deep for this angel in his life
With her, he desires a lifetime shared as one

With outstretched arms he bids her to come
Following her heart, the distance between them closes
Now in the valley they stand, hand in hand
Pledging their vows surrounded by mountain roses

A new beginning these two shall now happily begin
Joined under heaven's sky, as husband and wife
Witnessed by God, kissed by the sun and touched by the breeze
This unity will be blessed throughout the eternity of life
