Guided By the Shadows

The moonlight cast an eerie shadow
Along this darkened path I am to follow
I walk, leery, not sure of where I will go
But far away from this place I know
Hoping to find a life filled with inner peace
Searching out for some type of release
I continue on, the shadows guiding me
Dancing like the words on a marquee
The desire in me allows them to lead
To see what does await I feel the need
Sounds of the night are calling out
The echo within, I fear without doubt
I listen, as I hear my conscious talking
Saying, "Why is it away you are walking?"
No, I have not an answer to this question
I must not think for fear of regression
I will not allow myself to turn back
I continue, fleeing the feeling of attack
Suddenly I see the shadows break apart
Guiding me onto another path to start
Is that thunder in the sky I hear?
Yes, for suddenly the lightning does appear
The rain begins with a fury falling to the ground
I stand there overcome with a feeling so profound
Renewed, cleansed, mind, body and soul
No fear or regression, I am now in control
A new beginning, I found on that night
Guided by the shadows in the moon light
