Off the porch
around the corner
across the lawn
over the gate
Getting closer
almost time
won't be long
to sit and wait
Busy street
loud noises
doesn't matter
he sits without fear
Up the road
there it comes
excitement builds
Yes! almost here
Up to the curb
pulls the school bus
door swings open
and down he steps
Tail wagging, eyes smiling
jumping up, dancing round
slobbery kisses, happy yelps!
Lots of petting does begin
smiling big from ear to ear
happy to see him his lil' master is
hugging and holding him so tight
Each school day without fail
his lil' master he does greet
he seems to always know
exactly when the time is right
