A Christmas Memory
Snow falling
gently to the ground
The carolers are heard as they sing
A wonderful season this is
Warmth to our hearts it does bring
Twinkling lights on houses everywhere
Around the neighborhood there is a show
Santa and his sleigh up on the rooftops
Angels and Manger Scenes out in the snow
Together we decorate the Christmas tree
The kids string together popcorn to go around
We hang the ornaments, Icicles, beads, and red bows
On top sits the prettiest Angel ever found
The fireplace has a beauty of its own
Decorated with stockings carefully placed
Soon they will be filled from toe to top
With surprises to find and sweet goodies to taste
Its Christmas Eve, time for Santa to come
Hot chocolate, marshmallows and cream
We all sit by the fire and enjoy one last cup
Then off to bed, all tucked in, time for a dream
Tossing and turning throughout the night
With visions of Santa and his Reindeer
And of course there is Rudolph and his nose
Lighting the way to the house this year.
Our little eyes open in the early dawn
Oh my goodness, the morning is here
Jumping out of bed, with excitement
Running to our parents room with a cheer,
Come on, Come on, its morning time!
You know Santa came during the night!
Oh hurry, get up please, lets go and see!
Tugging on their hands we pull with all our might!
The sparkle in our eyes brought joy to their hearts
A few gifts from Santa, but many that were lovingly made
Together we shared special gifts on that wonderful day
The feeling of the moment; lasting memories that I would never trade
